We currently have an opening in the Greater Toronto Area for a: Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator The Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator supports the implementation of the Corporate Safety Program at the site level by working with a designated project to enforce legislative requirements and assisting the project team with the implementation of requirements under Kenaidan's registration to the ISO Standard. How will you contribute to the team?

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and coordinate environmental tracking and reporting requirements as a member of the Project Site Team
  • The environmental requirements include but are not limited to the following:Conduct environmental inspections on site and maintain a log to support the observations recorded.

Assist in any updates or revisions to project-specific Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and environmental plans. Preparation of the Soil & Excavated Material Management Monthly Monitoring Report. Preparation of the Groundwater Management and Dewatering Monthly Report. Participate in the monthly Environmental Working Group (EWG) meetings on site. Tracking of waste diversion for the project site Prepare Monthly Compliance Monitoring Reports. Preparation of the Monthly Construction Noise and Vibration Monitoring Report. Preparation of the Monthly Air Quality Monitoring Report Assist in the preparation and tracking of the Sustainability Reporting Metrics Report. Complete Spills Prevention and Response Occurrence Report for any discharge, spill, or release of any hazardous substance on site.

  • The health & safety requirements include but are not limited to the following:Assist the Director, Health & Safety, and project teams with the implementation of their site-specific safety plans at the start of the jobs.

Perform site Safety & Environmental orientations with new workers. Coordinate weekly toolbox talks and ensure records of subcontractor safety meetings are posted in compliance with Kenaidan’s requirements. Participate and chair Joint Health & Safety Committee Meetings and Worker’s Trade Committee Meetings, as required. Monitor the H&S programs at each site to ensure consistency with procedures, legislative requirements, and the site-specific plan. This will involve visiting each site weekly and working with site teams to address safety issues and non-conformances to the program. Complete daily Field Inspection Reports. Conduct inspections/audits of the systems, equipment, and process in place at the assigned project(s), as directed. Accompany third-party inspectors during site reviews. Oversee compliance to issues identified during the third-party inspection. File & maintain safety-related documentation, as required by Kenaidan’s program. Assist in the completion of Injury and Incident reports and participate in the investigation of the occurrence. Assist with the implementation of return-to-work programs for injured workers. Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of Site Specific Environmental plans developed for assigned projects. Participate in and coordinate H&S initiatives on-site and at the Corporate level. Participate in the continuous improvement of Kenaidan’s EHS Program.

Education & Skill requirements :

  • Post Secondary Education in Environmental
  • Minimum 3 years related experience in Health and Safety, and Environmental.
  • Construction experience is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines

Working Conditions :

  • Site-based position. Personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat, safety boots) is required at all times on site.
