Laundry Attendant

Full Time and Part Time Positions Available.

Must be available to work various shifts over weekends and holidays.

***: The Laundry Attendant contributes to the overall success of the hotel by fulfilling Coast's expectations of superior customer service and quality standards of cleanliness by ensuring adequate supplies of clean linens and related items are available for distribution at the hotel.

Responsibilities Will Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Replenishes stock and clean linens, by picking up, washing and drying linens, towels and bathrobes according to Mount Alverno Hotel efficiency and cleanliness standards.
• Separate out any soiled, torn or badly worn linen for possible discard.
• Cleans back-of-house areas of the property, by taking out garbage, stripping and cleaning floors, reporting any deficiencies to the housekeeping supervisor so appropriate work orders can be filed with maintenance
• Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels within the assigned area
• Responds to guest requests for extra or additional amenities or items
• Acts as an ambassador, including making guests feel welcome and handling basic inquiries
• Demonstrates a superior customer service attitude with internal/external contacts
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with excellence. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Knowledge and experience of housekeeping operations and equipment, an asset.
• Experience in a Hotel setting, an asset
• Prior laundry experience required
• Must be able to multi-task
• Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy amount of weight (minimum of 20 lbs)
• Physical mobility and stamina
• Current WHMIS certification an asset
• Professional attitude
• Detail-oriented
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous customer service experience
• Exemplifies Mount Alverno core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
