The work location is at

• Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.

Future challenges

Reporting to the Supervisor the miner must be able to operate a bulldozer. He may also be called upon to operate the other heavy machinery used at the mine:

• He or she performs his or her duties in accordance with current safety standards (road safety and health and safety, Mining and Quarrying Act);
• He inspects his equipment before and after his work shift;
• If necessary, he performs any other tasks requested by his/her supervisor.

Profile required

• Have worked at least 6000 hours as a heavy equipment operator; including 2000 hours of experience on a bulldozer.

• Must have additional qualifications on two (2) of the following other equipment:

• 2000 hours on production trucks

• 2000 hours on production hydraulic excavators

• 2000 hours on wheel loaders

• 2000 hours on CAT 16M graders

• 2000 hours on bulldozers

• 2000 hours on the service excavators

• Posses a high school diploma (DES);

• Possession of a general explosives permit is mandatory;

• Possess a valid driver's license is essential;

• Hold a class 1 driver's license (asset);

• Good knowledge of preventive mechanics is an asset;

• Have successfully completed a heavy equipment course or have experience deemed equivalent.
