  • Minimum 2 year accounting diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification program through the

Canadian Payroll Association preferred.

  • 3-5 years recent payroll experience in large unionized environment
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA)

PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Crystal Report Writing.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)

  • Ensure accurate time entries and transmission of payroll within deadlines.
  • Review payroll output and initiate appropriate adjustments.
  • Prepare payroll related journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Analyze employee benefits and prepare remittances and requisitions
  • Complete financial,, statistical and other informational reports for both internal and external

stakeholders.

  • Complete Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan annual contribution reports and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile T4s, T4As, and other various year end reports.
  • Initiate Records of Employment and respond to Employment Insurance (EI) inquiries.
