SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR, TEMPORARY, PART-TIME Closing Date: Ongoing Department: Community Services Department File Number: SV24-73 Hours: Varied with availability for weekday, weeknight and/or weekend shifts Hourly Rate: $19.60 – $21.47 Under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Swimming Instructor will provide swimming instruction to participants of the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and deliver high quality swim lessons to community members. Maintain vigilance and safety supervision of all participants. Work in a team to ensure safety and quality of programs prevail. Attend scheduled training and development sessions. Provide a positive customer service experience and ability to address customer concerns. Report concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor, or on-call supervisor, as needed. Provide appropriate first aid treatment and documentation, as needed. Complete administrative tasks, including report card writing and instructor worksheets, appropriately and in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, organized workspace. Perform additional duties, as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age. Current Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification from a WSIB recognized organization. Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification. Availability for weekday, weeknight, or weekend aquatic programs. Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification is considered an asset. Previous Lifeguard experience is considered an asset.
