Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Rural Acute Care Manager, Hanna Hospital and Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN), who is responsible for providing front-line clinical support, and liaising with the Nurse Educator to provide education to the Acute Care staff. The successful applicant will work with the charge nurse to help coordinate workflow, guide orientation and learning activities, as well as provide day-to-day support, which may include direct patient care activities. The CRN will help identify individual learning needs and provide an environment conducive to learning by both mentoring and coaching staff to help build on their nursing skill set. The CRN is a change agent and facilitates quality improvement and change management with their team and engages in quality improvement projects. The CRN participates in developing, establishing, maintaining, and evaluating standards of care and standard operating procedures. The Clinical Resource Nurse is a self-directed professional who functions as an integral part of a clinical team. The CRN is a role model and mentor and sets the tone for a positive work environment. Hanna is a rural town, whom some residents farm, ranch, or work at the Sheerness Power Plant or mine. Though small, Hanna has all the essential services and amenities, and a variety of recreational opportunities such as the Centennial Place, Arena, Curling rink, swimming pool, baseball diamonds and 18 hole golf course. As well as being near 2 lakes , Prairie Oasis and Fox Lake. The Hanna Hospital and Care Centre provides a wide range of services. In acute care, there are 17 inpatient beds, an outpatient department and a 24-hour emergency room. The staff at the Hanna Hospital and Care Centre pride themselves on being a supportive, family-like team that provides compassionate patient and family-centered care to the community.Description: As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
