This premier full-service hotel in Northwestern Ontario seeks a strategic leader with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences. They are hiring a hands-on and dynamic Director of Operations to oversee and elevate the day-to-day operations across all departments. In this key leadership role, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to implement the property’s strategic vision, focusing on Food & Beverage, banquets, and restaurant operations, and providing operational support to the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Maintenance teams. The Director of Operations is pivotal in fostering innovation, creativity, and emotionally enriching experiences for guests while driving performance and engagement across all hotel divisions. $75,000 - $80,000 plus incentivesDescriptionLeadership & Strategy: Collaborate with department managers to develop and implement strategies that align with the hotel’s business goals, ensuring top-tier guest service and operational excellence.Operations Oversight: Lead the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage and rooms divisions, including restaurants and banquets, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction.Team Development: Drive a culture of performance through recognition, training, mentoring, and coaching programs to develop confident and skilled hospitality professionals.Financial Management: Support department managers in managing occupancy, rates, wages, and expenses, while focusing on maximizing financial performance and return on investment.Brand Standards: Ensure hotel operations meet brand standards, target guest needs, and promote team satisfaction, in alignment with the hotel’s overall strategy.Guest Experience: Set and exceed guest satisfaction targets, leading the team by example and assisting with daily operations as needed to ensure exceptional guest experiences.Collaboration: Work with the General Manager and Corporate leadership to develop and execute annual plans that drive revenue, guest satisfaction, and team engagement.Financial Reporting: Monitor hotel performance against budget and ensure revenue and expense targets are met or exceeded.Recruitment & Training: Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and mentoring of team members, with a focus on career growth and operational excellence.RequirementsExperience: 5+ years in a Director of Operations or senior leadership role within a full-service hotel environment.Education: University or College diploma in culinary or hospitality management.Certifications: Current Food-Safe and Smart Serve Certifications.Skills: Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to training and team development.Experience: Prior experience in a unionized environment is an asset.Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Hotel Property Management Systems.Flexibility: Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, including Manager-On-Duty shifts.Legal Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.Corporate CultureOpportunity to lead a passionate team in delivering exceptional guest experiences.Be part of a forward-thinking and collaborative hotel environment.Competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for career advancement.If you’re ready to bring your leadership skills to a high-performing hotel and thrive in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment, apply today!Contact Carmen MacKeage at 403.670.9101 x5 or submit your resume in confidence below.
