Facility Technician Apex Systems is a large staffing and consulting firm and we are looking for 2 Facilities Technicians with a Maintenance and customer service, inventory/logistics, and any warehouse/GMP experience to place at our Biotech client. Client: Innovative Biotech client!Contract/Perm & duration: 3-6 month contract Location: HamiltonThe Maintenance Technician role is a key part of our client's team and is responsible for the execution of work orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) orders to support of cGMP activities. The position location is at a Hamilton facility and is on-site based, to support 24 x 7 manufacturing activities. The Maintenance Technician will share routine on-call coverage for after-hours maintenance, as required. Training will be provided at the client's training Centre in Guelph.Responsibilities:Comply with all personnel management policies and procedures and maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.Provides support on all matters related to maintenance.Uses SAP to obtain and complete all required PM and facility maintenance orders in compliance with cGMP/GDP practices and manufacturers recommendations.Complete all paperwork timely and accurately.Facilitate the receipt and handover of equipment between maintenance and the user group. Helps with simple calibration tasks such as pressure gauges and thermocouples.Inspect grounds, buildings, and other property features as required to minimize liability concernsWork with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that the physical condition of the property is maintained according to company operating and safety standardsAssist with equipment move-in/move-out process as needed.Ensuring details of maintenance work performed are communicated to the user group.Supports continuous improvement and embraces the OmniaBio Operating Model.Uses the Process Control System (PCS) to ensure equipment is functioning as expected daily.Identification and reporting of unusual equipment operation, deficiencies deviations immediately.Supports deviation investigations, root cause identification, and recommends corrective and preventive actions.Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Process Development, Operations/Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Program Management, among others, to coordinate Maintenance activities.Requires a flexible work schedule to include shift work, weekends and on-call availability to support operating schedules and/or respond to process problems. Perform other maintenance/repair work as directed by Facility SupervisorKey Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.A post-secondary education in a technical discipline would be an asset.Prior industrial maintenance experience 1 to 2 years preferably in a pharmaceutical environment preferred.Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, building and construction, and knowledge of occupational Health & Safety requirements.Computer skills such as Microsoft office (Excel and Word) and a willingness to learn our building management system (BMS) and Process Control System (PCS)GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SAP experience is an assetStrong English written and oral communication skills.Able to lift or carry up to 40+ pounds.
