  • Group Benefits Specialist

How will I impact the business? - Liaise with sales, account managers, support team and insurance carriers-

  • Conduct the group benefit quoting process which includes the preparation of RFPs as well as the assembly of marketing results’ presentations-
  • Act as project manager for new business implementations as well as existing business when there is a change in insurance carriers-
  • Coordinate all activities related to implementations and host frequent status meetings with our clients and team-
  • Conduct the annual renewal process which includes data gathering, analysis, carrier negotiation and renewal report delivery to account managers-
  • Determine whether to accept, modify or decline a carrier’s proposed rating for new business and existing portfolio based on plan design and claims performance.-
  • Provide technical support to clients after the initial sale of the product-
  • Keep client relationship management database accurate with client policy details, renewal decisions and amendment requests-
  • Review and revise policy documents including contracts, booklets and summaries.-
  • Compare and align benefit plans with collective agreements-
  • Investigate and resolve client issues as applicable-
  • Identify process improvement opportunities when possible to increase accuracy and efficiency-
  • Develop strong understanding of group benefit and group retirement industry What skills are important to be successful in this role? - The ability to be detailed, analyze data and perform basic mathematical tasks
  • A Strong command of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • You are good at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks within deadlines
  • Working on a team and independently with mínimal supervision makes you happy, as does developing relationships with service vendors and clients Do I have what it takes to be considered?
  • Post-secondary graduate from an accredited college or university. A business or economics related diploma would be an asset.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced professional environment
  • Detail orientated as well as strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong research skills to stay current in industry best practices, trends and relevant legislation
  • Bilingual in French and English, spoken and written is preferred
  • Industry related designations would be an asset (i.e. LLQP, CEBS)
