Job Title :Kinesiologist

Type :Part-Time, 1 Year Contract

Hours :Tuesday 10:00am - 4:30pm, Wednesday 10:00am - 4:30pm, Thursday 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Location : Kitchener Clinic

The primary function of a Kinesiologist is to provide care and support for employees as well as supporting the health and wellness programs that contribute to a safe work environment. You will be responsible to work in conjunction with the Regional Manager.

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Completing Job Demands Analysis (also known as Physical Demands Analysis)
  • Develop testing protocols based on bona fide occupational requirements from the JDA
  • Develop Physical Abilities Testing for workers in jobs with higher physical demands
  • Perform Ergonomic Assessments
  • Develop educational programs around ergonomics, proper lifting technique and body mechanics
  • Assisting with tracking and cataloguing all job positions along with their associated JDAs
  • Performing other administrative duties

Operational Responsibilities

  • Manage and remain calm within an unpredictable fast (or slow) paced environment
  • Have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to work effectively across multiple functional areas and various professional disciplines
  • Possess strong basic computer skills
  • Manage sensitive, confidential information while displaying sound and objective judgment.
  • Be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, in accordance with established medical records protocol
  • Maintain employee confidences by keeping employee health information confidential
  • Have superior interpersonal, communication and public relations skills
  • Demonstrate excellent critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborates with the employee and appropriate leaders to recommend worker placement or job limitations

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • No experience required (will be trained by inhouse DriverCheck experts)
  • Emergency First Aid training
  • Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (or related health sciences degree)
  • Must be a Registered Kinesiologist in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Previous experience conducting PDDs and FAEs is considered an asset
