Project Coordinator/Administrator

Our Nanaimo, Parksville, and Campbell River offices are seeking a Project Coordinator/Administrator to join their teams and provide planning, project coordination, and drafting support for three BC Land Surveyors. This role will have the option to work at the Nanaimo or Parksville office and reports directly to the project managers.

Job activities:

  • Creating plans/Drafting
  • Communicating and coordinating with various government authorities
  • Attending and presenting at public meetings

Required skills and experience:

  • An understanding of land development approval and municipal development processes
  • An understanding of drafting and building/legal plans
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask between several project simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and the ability to problem solve and self motivate

Preferred skills and experience:

  • An understanding of provincial planning legislation, and a willingness to learn about surrounding local government policies and bylaw requirements
  • Experience using AutoCad and Microsurvey or other drafting software
  • Experience with local government land use regulatory and procedural policy and bylaw development
  • Post secondary education related to civil/urban planning or geomatics, or related discipline

Job details:

  • Approximately 40 hours per week with flexible start/finish times within standard working hours (7am-5pm) and some evenings (to attend public meetings)
  • This position requires in person attendance.
  • Starting hourly wage dependent on experience. Rate to be reviewed after three-month probationary period.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime

Supplemental pay types:
