We are in search of a full-time Receiver to join us at our Uptown location

Job Purpose : Working as part of a talented team of professionals, the Receiver manages inventory, receives incoming goods and products and maintains stock levels and floor organization.

Position Details :Permanent, full-time. Monday to Friday availability (8:30am - 4:30pm) is preferred.

Compensation :Starting at $19.50 per hour + tips.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Managing inventory, with an eye for organization, display, and stocking of products.
  • Making customers happy and promoting a helpful and friendly environment to ensure they arrive and leave with a great impression.
  • Receiving incoming goods, ensuring product received reflects invoice information. Find and communicate all variances between ordered and received quantities & product received damaged.
  • Create and maintain a well-organized receiving area, constantly knowing where all products are being stored to assist in retrieval.
  • Operate hand jacks to transport pallets of product safely within the receiving area.
  • Be familiar with counting inventory and love the quest for accuracy when counting.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness with a focus on both products and recycling being stored efficiently.
  • Follow FIFO (First In First Out) processes.
  • Making sure that the fridge is well-stocked when you leave for the day.
  • Assisting on the sales floor and filling in as cashier as required.
  • Such other duties as are customarily performed by a liquor store Receiver.

Education, Skills and Qualifications :

  • Experience in receiving or inventory control in retail, hospitality, or food services.

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service with a demonstrated ability to exceed guest expectations and respond to guests and colleagues with kindness and respect. [NV1]

  • The ability to lift 25 kg repeatedly and stay physically active throughout shift, including standing for extended periods (up to five hours) as well as work in a cold storage environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize the warehouse, manage inventory, stock products and promote a clean and efficient receiving area and storefront.

  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve and high level of attention to detail.

  • Serving It Right certification (and must be at least 19 years of age).

  • Forklift knowledge, certification an asset.

  • Knowledge of wine, beer and/or spirits is considered an asset.

  • The following certifications are considered an asset:

  • BC Wine Ambassador

  • WSET (1,2, or 3)

  • Certified Beer Server

  • Whiskey and Gin Ambassador
