We pride ourselves in being leaders in precast concrete innovation; building more resilient, energy efficient, sustainable, safe and durable structures.Job SummaryAs a member of the HR team, the HR Generalist will proactively engage with our operations team to deliver HR initiatives that support business objectives and drive growth for the business and its people. You will provide onsite HR support to our operations group in the areas of labour relations, performance management, policy implementation, onboarding and training, and compliance. The successful incumbent will be an effective communicator, responsive to business needs and can respectfully challenge the status quo to move the organization forward.Responsibilities As the first point of contact for our Operations team members, you will provide guidance on all human resources related matters.Support labour relation matters, including joint labour management meetings, collective agreement interpretation and application, grievance procedures and progressive discipline process.Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience, driving engagement and implementing innovative and lasting solutions.In collaboration with all key stakeholders, conduct workplace investigations and provide resolution to matters. Partner with the H&S team to promote a culture of safety and support investigation testing measures (i.e. breathalyzer, urinalysis).Maintain employee data, using the human capital management system and provide support to employees and supervisors as needed.Oversight of the attendance management program and communications with managers/employees.Facilitate new hire orientations/onboarding for both salaried and hourly employees.Participate in weekly HR team meetings (local and corporate) and in operational meetings.Participate in HR projects and initiatives including quarterly HR reporting in alignment with company goals. Full-cycle recruitment for hourly workforce as needed.Additional duties as assignedTechnical RequirementsMinimum of 3 years progressive HR experience in a generalist role with varied responsibilities across many HR functionsBachelor’s degree or relevant post-secondary degree in Human Resources or Industrial RelationsCPHR designation would be considered an assetBusiness RequirementsExperience in a unionized labour environment with a strong understanding of collective agreements, interpretation and application.Experience in construction and/or manufacturing is considered an assetTechnologically inclined, including strong Excel skillsDemonstrated experience managing priorities with flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environmentAbility to travel to the main office and to offsite events as needed.Cultural RequirementsStrong interpersonal skills with confidence in communicating at all levels of the organizationProven desire to work effectively and build trust with employees, operations and within the HR teamOrganized self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables for a wide variety of tasks with a high level of accountabilityAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, PreCon offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
