Superviseur IT / IT Supervisor

Reporting to the IT/OT & Telecommunications Director, the IT Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the computing systems and components at the Windfall site. They will ensure appropriate support for all activities within the IT environment. Based at the Windfall site in the Nord-du-Québec region, he will work on a schedule of 15 days on followed by 13 days off. Transportation, accommodation, and meals will be provided.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure team members' adherence to health and safety policies;
  • Coordinate work schedules for IT and telecommunications technicians;
  • Conduct performance evaluations of staff under supervision;
  • Design and implement solutions to address technical and overall issues;
  • Develop, design, and monitor departmental standard procedures;
  • Propose and design technical improvement solutions for the department;
  • Maintain network documentation and diagrams;
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software-related technical issues;
  • Research issues using available information resources;
  • Coordinate IT projects;
  • Support IT and telecommunications technicians;
  • Advise supervisor on appropriate actions and decisions;
  • Ensure network security across site infrastructure;
  • Manage the implementation of special IT projects;
  • Communicate with clients, keeping them informed of incident progress and system-related changes;
  • Always adhere to workplace health and safety policies and rules, ensuring staff compliance;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the IT Supervisor role that are relevant to project success.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in computer science.
  • (10) years of experience, including (3) to (5) years in a similar position.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Bilingualism (will need to work with English-speaking suppliers).

Technical skills

  • Ability to diagnose technical problems;
  • Ability to appropriately link resources to technical issues;
  • Knowledge of all key IT services in the organization for which support is provided;
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques and how technology is used to deliver IT services.
