TBT News Reporters are responsible for reporting on local news and sports stories, which will air during live and/or pre-recorded TBT newscasts on CKPR-Thunder Bay and Global Thunder Bay, including the TBT Newshour, TBT Saturday Edition, TBT Sunday Edition, TBT AM Edition and TBT Week in Review.

The TBT News Backup Sports Anchor is responsible for presenting news stories on-camera during live and/or pre-recorded TBT newscasts on CKPR-Thunder Bay and Global Thunder Bay, including the TBT Saturday Edition, TBT Sunday Edition, TBT AM Edition and TBT Week in Review as required.

Primary duties include: □ Write and edit daily news stories to air during daily TBT newscasts

□ Shoot video for daily news stories to air during daily TBT newscasts

□ Conduct interviews for daily news stories to air during daily TBT newscasts

□ Stay apprised of local, national and international news events

□ Present news stories on camera during live or pre-recorded daily TBT newscasts as required

□ Present weather segment on camera during daily TBT newscasts as required

□ Write and edit daily news updates as required

□ Edit video news clips from the TBT newscasts for online distribution as required

□ Ensure that breaking news items are added to daily newscasts as required

□ Assign reporters to cover breaking news stories as required

□ Fill in as vacation relief on weekdays and holidays as needed

□ Present weekly TBT Week in Review show as required

□ Adhere to the DougallMedia policy on News Ethics, and other company policies and procedures

Required Credentials and Skills: □ Post-Secondary Journalism or Broadcasting diploma preferred

□ Journalism experience preferred

□ Strong written and verbal communication skills

□ Professional attitude

□ Ability to work as part of a team

□ Experience with KLZ Newsroom an asset

□ Experience with Velocity video editing software an asset

□ Experience operating broadcast quality video camera an asset

□ Ability to work late/flexible hours

□ Valid Ontario Driver’s License
