Warehouse Technician

Job summary :This position reports to the Site Manager in Lloydminster and receives, stores and distributes materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in material, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to the sales manager for processing.
  • Ensure and enforce strict care and handling standards of products and materials.
  • Prior to shipping material, ensure product is properly prepped, banded, counted and staged.
  • Review customer orders, work orders, shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Schedule all third-party pickups and deliveries per customer requests.
  • Ensure proper documentation on every order.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Ensure all equipment has been inspected prior to use. Proper training will need to be recertified according to company safety and training requirements.
  • Handling and delivering of parts
  • Deliver parts from main office to the warehouse.
  • Move items that require repair from main office to warehouse or warehouse to office.
  • Handles field requests and delivers parts to work site locations
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
  • Make sure all products are accounted for prior to storage.
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Maintain efficient inventory count.
  • Full inventory count will be performed monthly.
  • Ensure that proper PPE is always worn, including third party vendors, sales personnel and other employees.
  • Maintain all company policies found in the employee and safety handbooks including but not limited to the Nondisclosure or Use of Trade Secrets, Customer Relations, and Confidentiality policies.

Position Requirements

  • Lifting capability must meet minimum requirements.
  • When lifting heavy objects, the large muscles of the legs, instead of the smaller muscles of the back, shall be used. If the heavy object is 50lbs or greater then it shall be picked up using a team lift or a lifting device such as a crane or winch.
  • Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed.
  • Must be able to communicate with customer, other employees and other subcontractors in respectful and professional manner.
  • Must be able to read and understand English for the purpose of completing safety documentation.
  • Working conditions will vary based on location and weather but may include uneven walking surfaces, heat, cold, rain and blowing dust.
  • Employees will be asked to do a variety of physically demanding tasks including but not limited to bending, sitting, squatting, grasping and standing in addition to lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling heavy objects.
