Join our team as a Building Systems Specialist and play a key role in the lifecycle management of our electrical and mechanical facility systems. You'll develop and implement a technology-driven plan to ensure our systems operate efficiently from acquisition to disposal. Leveraging your expertise in smart technologies, sensor devices, and IoT (Internet of Things) strategies, you will provide advice on maintaining and improving the House of Commons facility systems. By driving a proactive maintenance program, you'll ensure that our assets are consistently performing at their best through continuous monitoring, data analysis, and efficient resource management.In this role, you'll lead the maintenance, repair, and replacement of vital systems, making informed decisions based on technical and statistical analysis. You'll collaborate with project teams, manage contracts, and oversee service agreements to ensure we get the best value while keeping our systems safe and functional. Your ability to recommend and implement strategic improvements will enhance the reliability and longevity of our assets, making a significant impact on the operation and maintenance of our House of Commons facilities. You'll manage key systems, collaborate with project teams, and make decisions that directly impact the reliability and longevity of the House of Commons facilities, making a meaningful difference.Training and development opportunities.Work-life balance /35-hour work week4 weeks’ vacation (minimum)QualificationsEducation : Undergraduate degree or post-secondary certificate in a field such as architecture and/or mechanical and/or electrical engineering, technology or other building-related program, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.Experience : 10+ years of experience working in a facilities management environment, including but not limited to property management, management of repair, maintenance and tenant improvement projects, vendor negotiations and budget management;Experience in working collaboratively with architects, engineers, and real property planners to integrate design solutions into facility management projects;Experience in developing long-term technical maintenance strategies for specialized systems using lifecycle cost analysis techniques;Knowledge of modern life-cycle management principles, methods, and practices for building facilities and supporting systems;Experience in acquiring, managing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including digital capture and management of related information;Experience in applying smart technologies, including sensor devices, data analytics, and wireless connectivity, to optimize the use of facilities and spaces;Knowledge of real estate, facilities, or construction-related trends, emerging practices, terminology, and project management principles.Asset :Knowledge of the House of Commons organization and its building complexes, its facilities management framework, and the regulations and codes at federal, provincial, and municipal levels.Additional InformationWe are committed to creating an inclusive workplace by providing a barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
