Classroom and/or in-car instructor opportunities will be available.Key Responsibilities:Schedule and deliver weekly instruction in the classroom and/or in-car.Establish an open and creative learning environment.Facilitate discussions and coach students on program material.Use Driver Education software to:Monitor and support student progress.Enter data and comments.Administer, review and grade assignments and/or assessments.Administer written tests and vision screening, if required.Work collaboratively with the Driver Education team and community partners.Possess a laptop and/or mobile device with access to the internet.Maintain a driver training vehicle, if required.Qualifications:Be a resident of Manitoba.High school diploma or equivalent.Three years of experience with a valid full stage Class 5 or equivalent driver’s licence, issued within Canada or the United States.Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to prioritize workload and manage schedules independently.Comfortable with daily use of technology, such as emails and online applications.Experience facilitating training/workshops in large group settings is preferred.Experience teaching or coaching is preferred.Professional driving experience is an asset.Conditions of Employment:Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check as part of the recruitment process. Hold a valid Manitoba Class 5F driver’s licence in good standing.Qualify for and complete the Manitoba Driving Instructor Training course for class 5 vehicles.Maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driving Instructor permit.Maintain a valid Driver Training School and Training Vehicle permit, if required.Must be able to work shift work (evenings, and weekends).This competition will remain open until the position is filled.Why Join Us?
