Job Description : The role of a Junior Project Manager plan, coordinate and execute limited size mechanical projects guided by the Senior Project Manager. As a team member of a larger projects under the close guidance and supervision of the Senior Project manager, the JPM should be able to carry on differential tasks to achieve the main mechanical project phases from Initiation to closing including perform a variety of tasks which include site supervision and progress reports.

What you're responsible :

  • Collecting the Client requirement and prepare the project Charter draft.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule using MS project.
  • Prepare tender request form and high-level scope of work.
  • Search for and select qualified suppliers to install the systems and competitive prices.
  • Assists in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable health and safety, engineering standards and practices.
  • Performs a variety of tasks which may include analyzing proposed project solutions to ensure client requirement adequacy, resource efficiently and cost effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.
  • Travel to different project sites and report back to the Project Manager.

Qualifications : Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of general concepts of relevant mechanical, electrical engineering & maintenance of equipment,
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought,
  • Must have a great organizational and efficient communication skills,
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and be able to prioritize work in order to achieve them,
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering sketches, design drawings and specifications,
  • Ability to use MS Office, MS projects and AutoCAD is a must,
  • Be able to travel to USA on an occasional basis.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering,
  • 1 year experience working in industry with contractors/trades will be an asset. (Co-op experience will be considered),
  • Certification in project management will be an asset,
  • Full G class license.
