Production Coordinator

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES : Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Coordinator/Analyst supports the manufacture of Highwood’s products by ensuring all parts arrive on time and on budget. Essential responsibilities for this position include:

  • Planning the purchase of raw & processed metals, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components
  • Schedule purchasing based on pre-determined project delivery dates
  • Ability to schedule and arrange shipments
  • Assisting in receiving process; maintain documentation
  • Provide support in quoting new components and spare parts
  • Support QA/QC process
  • Develop and maintain preferred vendors
  • Develop and lead cost reduction initiatives, negotiate best pricing and deliveries
  • Assess job costing and performance
  • Assist in schedule planning and creation
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace at all times

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Able to speak, read and write using English language

Skills :

  • Knowledge or engineering drawings, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical/ control systems etc.
  • Knowledge of different types of raw and processed steel
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Experience with oil and gas equipment an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project

Experience

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of purchasing raw materials, processed steel parts and shop supplies

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
