Team Lead

Status : Full-time, Permanent Position | Location : Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC Report To : Shipping Manager | Service : Warehouse

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Team Lead ensures that orders are prepared and shipped without errors, efficiently and in a timely manner for our customers.

The Team Lead works to mobilize his/her team, value the individuals, and ensure their development.

The Team Lead will act as the liaison between the shipping department and the Customer Service Department as well as other external parties.

Will perform other related duties as requested by his immediate superior, in accordance with internal procedures and rules.

TASKS RELATED TO FUNCTION : Supervision | 10%

• Directs team members to ensure that orders are prepared in an accurate, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
• Monitors department performance and provides feedback and/or suggestions for improvement to the Shipping Manager.
• Monitors team performance and gives positive feedback if deserved and realigns when necessary.
• Coaches team members with the objective of continuous improvement, both individually, and as a department.

Shipment of merchandise | 83%

• Prepare and print invoices and shipping labels.
• Collect and verify that all items and goods are included in the shipment.
• Prepare shipments and shipping labels for transport companies.
• Examine the contents of shipments to see if it corresponds to the records and verifying its accuracy.
• Perform general physical activity to unload, sort and move the goods by hand or with the help of handling equipment.
• Ensure that all goods are properly placed in the warehouse to ensure proper loading.

Health & Safety | 5%

• Be compliant with the standards and business procedures as well as enforcing the health and safety laws.
• Ensure that work areas and equipment are kept clean and always organized.

Other | 2%

• Participate in the annual inventory.
• Complete various reports.

ACADEMIC ASPECTS AND EXPERIENCE :

• High school diploma or vocational training.
• Good knowledge of French and English (oral and written).
• Experience in shipping is a must.
• Basic knowledge of various programs such as Excel, Outlook.
• Forklift operator credentials would be an asset.
• Able to work in an environment where the temperature varies.
