Wood is currently accepting applications for adhoc Journeyperson Electricians with extensive oil and gas experience for Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.Install, alter, repair and maintain electrical systems designed to provide heat, light, power, control, signal or fire alarms for all types of buildings structures and premises. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to determine wiring layouts Use tools, materials and equipment with the purpose of executing the work. Working in confined spaces and/or at heights, work may be indoor or outdoor and in extreme temperatures. In our recruitment and hiring process at Wood Canada Ltd. (incl. Experience RequirementsSuccessful completion of 4 Period Apprenticeship, followed by Journeyperson Certification OR a valid Journeyperson Certificate issued by another Canadian province or Territory with Interprovincial Red Seal Certification. Experience in industrial electrical installation, construction, maintenance, fabrication, and/or repair. Journeypersons must demonstrate competence in their trade. This includes but is not limited to knowledge of electrical drawings, specifications and codes, use of electrical tools, installing various types of electrical equipment, and trouble-shooting electrical systems.Fall Arrest Certificate is required when working at heights.The following Offshore Certificates and Training is required and would be considered an asset:Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBARigging, Slinging, and BanksmanHydrogen Sulphide (H2S) AliveWorkplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)Offshore Safety Regulatory AwarenessFall ProtectionConfined Space EntryEmergency First AidPhysical RequirementsMust pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test, as required by the customerMust be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbsMust possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified aboveAble to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol May be required consistently to work12-hour shifts performing physical labour in varying temperature extremes and conditions.
