Manager, Strategic Initiatives

Duties and Responsibilities : Responsible for providing support to the Director in the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives for the Students and Enrolment division. Also responsible for a variety of initiatives related to staff success and development, such as the delivery of the Student Support Certificate, internal staff communications and divisional orientation and onboarding processes. The position manages casual and term special project staff as required.

Qualifications : The incumbent must possess the following qualifications :

  • Knowledge of operational management practices including project management planning, and human resources
  • Knowledge of student retention and success best practices and emerging trends
  • Knowledge of adult learning best practices
  • Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
  • Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
  • Knowledge is used to lead projects

Education and Experience : The above is normally acquired through the completion of :

  • Completion of bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of four years of previous experience including project management and two years of supervisory experience
