Family Physician

Work Term: Temporary

• Work Language: English

• Hours: 40 to 60 hours per week

• Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry

• Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Work setting :

• Clinic Tasks :

• Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures

• Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health

• Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues Supervision :

• 3-4 people Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

• College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)

• Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)

• College of Family Physicians Certification in Emergency Medicine - CCFP(EM)

• Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities

• Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II) Specialization in family practice :

• Family counselling

• Geriatrics

• Internal medicine
