We are looking for an experienced Material Handler with Forklift certification to join a busy distribution center in Burnaby! What you need to know: Position: Temporary to Permanent Role: Material Handler/Forklift Operator Schedule: Monday to Friday Shift Time: 7:00 am -3:30 pm Location: Burnaby, BC Payrate: $20-$22/hr based on experience *Must be legally permitted to work full-time in BC, Canada* * Must have forklift experience and certification * Advantages * Full-time with opportunity for permanent hire * Potential for growth and advancement * Positive working environment with a small but motivated team * Benefits and RSP matching Responsibilities * Drive forklift safely and responsibly to load and unload stone slabs onto customers’ vehicles and shipping containers * Operate overhead crane safely and responsibly to stone slabs onto customer’s vehicles (will be trained) * Create daily tracking forms and ensure they are completed on a timely basis * Ensure the delivery docket matches what has been loaded onto the customer’s truck * Unload containers that arrive daily and scan receipts * Load and unload semi-trailers for transfer of stock to or from other branches. Accurately recording stock * Ensure paperwork is completed efficiently and correctly * Participate in monthly inventory counts * Daily equipment inspections * Cleaning/maintenance of the warehouse and yard Qualifications * Professional presentation, work ethic and behavior * Minimum of 3 years work experience in warehousing and forklift operation * Current license/certification on SDCB Forklift * Overhead crane experience is considered an asset * Excellent communication, work management, collaboration and results orientation skills * Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management and customers * Positive and “can do” attitude, and a confident, polite manner * Basic Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Products * Working experience with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle advantage) * Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently. * Able to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, high-priority environment Summary If you have the skills/qualifications detailed above we would love to chat.
