Rosewood House Shelter is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Residential Coordinator. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing essential support and assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness. You will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment that promotes stability, dignity, and empowerment for our residents.

Responsibilities :

Conduct intake interviews with new residents, assess their immediate needs, and provide necessary referrals to appropriate services.
Collaborate with the case management team to develop and implement individualized service plans for residents, focusing on housing stability, employment, healthcare, and personal development.
Monitor and ensure the safety and security of the shelter premises and residents.
Assist residents in accessing community resources, including healthcare facilities, employment services, and educational opportunities.
Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to residents experiencing distressing situations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident interactions, service provision, and progress towards goals.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.

Qualifications:

SSW diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a social service setting is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals facing homelessness.
Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and flexibility.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
