That’s why we say… if it’s in the electrical power system, Shermco does it.Operations ManagerThe Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, this includes managing staff (30), ensuring efficient processes, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.Essential ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, coaching/mentoring, and doing performance evaluationsFoster and promote a positive culture within direct report team and collaborating teamsDemonstrate Shermco’s Core Values throughout your work responsibilities including Commitment to Safety, Accountability for Performance, Commitment to Excellence, Service to our CustomersAct as a guide for all members of the team to ensure the processes, procedures and standards are consistently delivered and adhered to, both at the department and Company levelDevelop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectivenessCollaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfactionEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and standardsEnsure that the team regularly participates in and complies with Company safety programs; employees have necessary new hire safety training, and that annual or periodic safety training is completed for all department employees; assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of workplace safety policies and procedures and with investigations of any accidents/incidents occurring in the department.Ensure the satisfactory resolution of concerns or issues, intervening in the more complex or sensitive issues with respect to customers, contracts, human resources, or safetyManage budgets and allocate resources appropriatelyMonitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvementIdentify and implement new technologies and processes to improve operationsProvide regular reports to senior management on operational performance and progress towards goalsOccasionally perform field work in order to support the team and business needsRequirementsBachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, electrical engineering highly preferredIndustrial electrical testing, commissioning, or engineering considered an asset. We will consider someone with an EE degree with management experience from other industries Several years progressively responsible experience with at least 2 years of experience in a Senior Management/Operations Management roleP&L experienceStrong leadership and management skillsResults-oriented individual with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including laborers, trades, technical, professional, management and senior or executive management.A professional demeanor and a commitment to a high level of customer serviceAbility to analyze data and make informed decisionsExperience with budget management and resource allocationKnowledge of relevant regulations and standardsExperience with implementing new technologies and processesBe able to perform technical work when needed in the field.
