Parts Worker

VRE Systems is currently seeking a Parts Worker/Electronic Technician to join our team! The purpose of this role is to accurately organize and control the parts department, as well as count, package and label parts while maintaining a clean, organized work area. A strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Duties :

  • Maintain sufficient inventory of all components and parts
  • Liaise with Purchasing, Operations Analyst, and other departments as required for the purpose of production and schedules/timeline
  • Keep clear, concise and thorough records of all parts shipped and received
  • Read and understand the VRE Shade and P/O Parts List, and accurately count, package and label parts
  • Wire electric drive motors in preparation for CSA certification following VRE schematics
  • Build corresponding gear boxes
  • Assemble small parts and maintain appropriate ‘build to’ quantities
  • Ensure that all parts taken have appropriate paperwork and can be accounted for
  • Adhere to all VRE Standard Operating Procedures and ensure highest quality
  • Follow all quality control procedures to meet quality objectives
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain all machinery and tools according to Equipment User Guides
  • Be able to troubleshoot and decide appropriate action if discrepancies occur
  • Report any problems with equipment or inventory to the Plant Manager
  • Ensure regulated and proper safety protective gear are worn
  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety, Workplace and WHMIS regulations
  • Duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time in order to support efficient company operations

Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent educational experience
  • Electronic knowledge required
  • Have strong mathematical and some computer skills
  • Possess electrical knowledge and skill (motors and circuits)
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of tools (drills, grinders, saws, weight counter)
  • Have a strong understanding of both Imperial and Metric measurements
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/schematics
  • Ability to deal with team members/customers sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
  • Strong time management skills within a changing environment

Work Conditions

  • Physical demands include: lift up to 40lbs; stand, sit, and bend for long periods
  • Working in a loud, busy production environment with frequent interruptions
  • Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, with occasional overtime required
  • Starting wage is $17.00/hour
  • Benefits offered at 6 months of employment
  • Location is not public transportation accessible
