  • Demonstrates strength in building partnerships with Residents, family members, employee care partners, volunteers, external care partners and the community at large to ensure the vibrancy of our community.
  • Flexible, willingness to prioritize and re-adjust routines, open to change for the benefit of the community.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, communication, and time and resource management skills.
  • Excellent facilitation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, deal effectively with difficult or crisis situations.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention and adheres to safe work practices. Is mindful of the psychological health and safety of our employee care partners.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required. Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
  • Food Safe Certificate - an asset.
  • Experience in hospitality, and/or food service, and/or recreation an asset.

Responsibilities : As a member of our Care Partner Team your role will include :

  • Providing services in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Ensuring that services are provided in accordance with best practices, our Well-Being Strategies, quality improvement guidelines, and regulations/standards. It is important to conduct random ongoing audits to ensure compliance at all times.
  • Strives to attain excellence in Care Partner satisfaction through ongoing solicitation, surveys, and measurement of feedback. Implementation of Care Partner suggestions, interactive problem solving, and an annual evaluation.
  • Makes improvements in the overall coordination of the Community’s services.
  • Being a team builder, coach, mentor, active listener, facilitator, teacher, and an important resource to our Community.
  • Engaging all Care Partners in all aspects of hospitality experiences, helping everyone become well-known to one another.
  • Assisting with daily life within the Community, as needed, such as serving meals, doing light housekeeping in the food service area, assisting Residents, supporting spontaneous activities, and leading Learning Circles.
  • Promote and create involvement by Residents in meaningful activities.
  • Creating an atmosphere that is welcoming, relaxed, and relationship-driven, where everyone feels at home.
  • Understanding the Domains of Well-Being and bringing them to life.
  • Collaborating with the Community team to plan and participate in special celebrations and spontaneous events.
  • Engaging in meaningful conversations with Residents and their loved ones (if applicable) to learn more about their life story and encourage them to become involved in activities at the Community.
  • Assisting in ensuring the provision of high quality services for the Residents are consistent with the Well-Being Strategies.
  • Adhering to all of the Well-Being Strategies.
  • Preparing reports/checklists/schedules as required.
  • Understanding as well as participation in the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies.
  • Makes an active contribution towards improving Community relations, increasing positive public regard and overall awareness.
  • Reports all health, safety or maintenance items as required.
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Participates and facilitates ongoing educational programs.
  • Maintain self-wellness and reduced absenteeism within the team.
  • Takes initiative to actively plan, develop, and implement expansion in program services.
  • Continually monitors, key measurable indicators of the daily operations.
  • Demonstrates and appreciation of heritage, values and wisdom of the Resident and an understanding of the aging process.
  • Assist with identifying and addressing unmet needs within the Community.
  • Report and respond to concerns/issues as they relate to services within the Community.
