Shipping & Kilns Coordinator - Drayton Valley, Ab

This position is a Monday to Friday role.

Key Functions: This Kiln & Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for developing and leading team meetings and trainings, meeting productivity goals, reliability goals, and customer commitment goals. Identifying safety, quality, and production issues, and coordinating reliability work with maintenance teams. Additionally, the Kilns & Shipping Coordinator leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues, builds teamwork, and ensures adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. The successful applicant will be responsible for daily assistance of On Time Shipments, inventory maintenance, yard organization and other Product Supply requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide administrative support to a high energy, fast paced, dynamic shipping team
• Provide safety management administrative support including but not limited to driver orientations, monitoring and enforcing safety standards, managing safety documents
• Shipment completion and daily reports for domestic & US trucks, rough, green product, railcars.
• Managing inventory and stock rotation.
• Using SAP functions related to tracking and adjustments of shipping finished lumber
• Material management of new product codes
• Set up new users in SAP & MIS and support other users on site.
• Creating heat treat certificates.
• Management of office and operating equipment/supplies
• Maintain kiln and shipping safe reliable methods
• Month end functions and transactions
• Problem solving inventory discrepancies
• Be able to backfill the shipping supervisor on basic shipping functions
• Backfill kiln and shipping lead hand on basic daily functions
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements :A highly motivated, self-starting individual with a strong commitment toward customer service and safety. You must possess excellent communication skills and a demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Computer proficiency as it pertains to SAP is an asset. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to problem solve in a group/team environment as well as alone. Demonstrated ability in promoting safety on and off the job and being a role model for others to follow.

• Must have grade twelve or equivalent education
• Preferred experience and post-secondary education in office or business administration
• Demonstrated safety leadership
• Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team environment, employees, transport carriers, customers, vendors, and visitors.
• Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
• Motivated self-starter with high performance standards, excellent attention to detail, and initiative to act
• Must have a proven record of being dependable and reliable
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy
• Previous experience with SAP and Microsoft Suite operating systems would be an asset
• Professional communication skills, time management and organizational skills.
