Norstar prides itself in providing market-leading products that are exceptional on every level. To do this, we need an exceptional team! We are now seeking a highly motivated, self starter who possesses a strong attention to detail to join our team as a Data /Order Entry clerk.

Reporting to the Production Planner, the Data /Order entry clerk will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Accurately and efficiently inputting data into spreadsheets and the ERP System
  • Maintaining the databases on a daily basis. Reviewing and validating data for consistency and quality. Cross checking entries and eliminating any errors or duplicated information
  • Keeps information current and eliminates outdated records as required
  • Assists the Sales teams with entering orders into system, ensuring that prices and part numbers are accurate
  • Provides regular updates on the data entry process and identifies areas to improve the process as they come up
  • Assists the Engineering department by importing all new product lines and custom-built products into system
  • Creates and enters Bill of Materials based on product drawings
  • Answering the main phone lines and assisting callers with their needs (transferring calls, answering basic questions, taking messages, etc)
  • Provide administrative support to other colleagues and managers as need be. This could include but not limited to, assisting with printing and/or preparing marketing materials, assisting with label creation for employee files, filing and other administrative tasks if required /assigned as time permits

Requirements of the position :

  • Previous Data Entry experience or experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience or familiarity in a manufacturing environment would be a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written - English)
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and able to keep thorough and accurate records
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to learn new programs / systems quickly.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to shift priorities smoothly and efficiently
  • Team oriented with a positive, ‘Can do attitude’
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, working in an active office environment
  • Reliable and has own transportation to work

Salary : $18.50-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
