Position Summary : This position reports to the Family Information & Resource Manager, and works under the supervision of an Autism Consultant and Senior Tutor.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum education of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to work within a team
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification

Assets:

  • Previous experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities or ASD
  • Post-secondary course work in behaviour modification/applied behaviour analysis (ABA)
  • Previous work experience in a supervised ABA program
  • Knowledge of philosophies and practices in education, care and support services for individuals with disabilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers ABA intervention to assigned children under the direction of the Autism Consultant and Senior Tutor including learning activities in all life areas
  • Attends team meetings and workshops
  • Collects data and information regarding the child’s progress
  • Works closely with other team members to ensure coordination and integrity of services
  • Communicates with child’s family regarding the child’s progress, care, and well-being
  • Supports and assists child to participate in daily activities (e.g., group activities, outdoor play time), self-care and personal care when needed
  • Understands policies and procedures of the Autism Programs and those of the organization
  • Reports and documents high risk or potentially high risk situations according to St.Amant and Autism Programs policy
  • Carries out programming and teaching in areas/goals that have been identified and individualized for each child; works one-on-one with the child to develop their skills and independence
  • Willing and able to learn and maintain accurate data collection, summary and entry methods
  • Commits to complete all training required by the Autism Programs
  • Develops and/or constructs material for client use when required
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team

Job Types : Part-time, Permanent Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary : $16.72-$18.20 per hour
