Maintenance Planner

The planner/scheduler position is responsible for assessing, monitoring and making recommendations to the Area Supervisor regarding the planning, scheduling and coordinating of labor, material and system resources for maintenance and operational activities. This position requires a working knowledge of pipeline operation and maintenance activities and knowledge of the planning, scheduling, procurement and the integrated management systems.

Key Accountabilities : In charge of maintenance/improvement planification & execution of critical utilities equipment (turbines, air-compressor, chiller, etc.

  1. The planner will be in charge of anticipated work order preparation such as:
  • Work order analysis
  • Diagnosis of the problem location
  • Definition of required intervention (scope, operation and task list)
  • Reservation of spare parts needed
  • Identification of spare parts needed
  • Identification of required skills (Trades people) to complete a job.
  • Estimated time required for completion of jobs.
  • Estimated cost association for the work order/completion of the job
  • Integration of information in the maintenance software
  • The job for the next worker
  1. In charge of constructing and updating the weekly schedule:
  • Compile production planned stoppages and shutdowns
  • Make a work order schedule (parts available)
  • Workshop maintenance team capacity (total man hours needed)
  • Create a weekly maintenance schedule
  • Schedule adjustments

3.Responsible of the weekly planning meeting with Operations/Production team

4.Calculate KPI’s

  1. Updating the schedule according to planned and unplanned events (emergency, curative maintenance,)

  2. Monitor deviations and variances in schedule and assist in the developing of alternative methods for corrective action.

  3. Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.

  4. Prepare weekly schedules for weekly planning meeting with Operations and Maintenance.

  5. Establish root cause and work to resolve any issues which could affect supply of parts and/or equipment performance.

  6. Liaise with other maintenance personnel and production supervisors as is necessary to keep them informed on the progress of maintenance and repairs. Liaise with Operations, and Engineering to develop and review planning documents.

  7. Other duties as required.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Roquette Pea processing plant and its operations.

Functional Competencies :

  • Good understanding of all Trades/craft skills
  • Good communication skills and open to feedback
  • Applicants will have excellent Vendor Management Skills; and
  • Experience working with large data sets and sorting and reconciling data.

Technical Competencies :

  • Proficient to use the Microsoft series of office software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Good technical (mechanical, electrical, etc.) knowledge of industrial equipment regarding “best practices” (vibration analysis, material, lubrication analysis, hydraulics, alignment,) and “precision maintenance techniques”
  • Ability to gain good operational knowledge of production process at Roquette.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting / Root Cause Analysis training (continuous improvement)
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Good aptitude for administration, documentation controls
  • Be able to read schematic and diagrams and drawings for the purpose of determining parts lists.
  • Ability to Analyze weekly schedule break-ins
  • Ability to balance the schedule between planned maintenance jobs and new jobs (give it the appropriate scheduling priority: PM compliance)
  • Ability to work with operators and supervisors.
  • Good CMMS process and use knowledge (work orders portfolio management)

Qualifications : Education : Degree or Technical diploma in Engineering or related discipline.

Experience : 3-5 years of experience working as a Planner/Scheduler in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry.

Strong knowledge and experience of SAP and MS Project.

Good understanding of technical reporting and formatting.

Specific requirements : This position will require spending time on the shop floor with some walking, climbing, lifting etc.

Business Trips (Percentage) :Up to 20% prior to plant startup

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
