ABOUT THIS ROLE : If you're a motivated, self-driven professional looking to establish a strong career foundation, this position is ideal for you. Based in Winnipeg, the Project Coordinator typically reports to a Project Manager and plays a crucial role in ensuring project success.

Project Coordinators oversee the complete lifecycle of a project, ensuring it adheres to schedule, specifications, and budget. They monitor cost, schedule, safety, and quality, and regularly update the Project Manager on project progress, challenges, and any issues that may affect the plan or timeline.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including WERI staff, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and the community.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project progress against established milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, contract requirements, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in departmental and network databases.
  • Contribute to document control, archiving project activities, and preserving tools and findings for future reference.
  • Support the project team in meeting objectives, timelines, budgets, cash flow targets, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to create and execute project schedules in line with corporate policy.
  • Assist in contract preparation, and negotiations for revisions, changes, and additional terms with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Perform budget analysis, project cost estimations, and track financial impacts.
  • Analyze and report project data to aid decision-making.

Educational Requirements : A degree or diploma in the following fields is considered an asset:

  • Project Management
  • Construction Engineering Technology
  • Construction Management
  • Engineering

The following certifications are advantageous:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • Gold Seal Certification
  • Construction safety certifications

Experience Requirements :

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator within the construction industry.

Skills and Competencies :

  • Expertise in contract management, construction scheduling, and planning.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes.
  • Understanding of financial statements and construction best practices.
  • Familiarity with local and provincial labor codes.
  • Experience managing both union and non-union teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites around Winnipeg.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
