Reid's Dairy Company Ltd. is currently accepting resumes for a Full-Time, Food Safety/BRC Coordinator.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Coordination, control and implementation of the BRC Program.
  • Management of the sites food safety systems (PCP, Policies, HACCP, etc.) to ensure compliance with regulatory and third-party requirements.
  • Act as liaison with government inspectors, auditors and other bodies completing site audits and inspections.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Supervisor to review and validate process and site deviations to establish effective preventative measures taken.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead and assist in establishing effective and adequate corrective actions, preventative measures and other actions required for internal deviations and external non-conformances identified.
  • Managing Internal Audit Program. Complete training of internal audit team members, conduct annual risk assessment for scheduling of internal audits and assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor in the assignment of corrective and preventative measures for non-conformances identified.
  • Management of Supplier Approval Program including completion of vulnerability assessment for all suppliers. Request and file supplier documents for assessment and approval.
  • Maintain and develop product specification and packaging requirements for all finished product to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.
  • Follow and comply with health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

Education and Qualifications : College Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree preferred in Food Science, or a related discipline such as Microbiology or Biotechnology.

Minimum completion of a three (3) year program or equivalency.

Experience :

  • 1-3 years of comprehensive food safety and/or quality assurance/control in a food manufacturing work environment is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills are required and are effectively conveyed (written, verbal, etc.).
  • Previous experience regarding BRC and/or SQF is an asset.
  • HACCP training from a recognized training provider is an asset.
  • BRC certification is a requirement.

Job Status : Full time; day.

Essential Skills : Reading and writing skills; numeracy; oral and written communication; ability to work with others; familiarity of computer software such as Microsoft Excel; problem solving skills.

Rate of Pay : Job Location : 222 Bell Boulevard; Belleville, Ontario, Canada
