FITNESS INSTRUCTOR 2 – AQUA FIT File Number: SV24-89 Number of Positions : 1 (One) Position Type: Temporary Part Time Hourly Rate: $25.89 - $28.00/hour Hours of Work: Varied hours; including days, evenings and weekends Department: Community Services Department Employee Group : Administrative Group Work Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre Closing Date:  Open Until Filled   PURPOSE AND SCOPE: As a member of the Community Services Department, this position prepares lesson plans, provides quality instruction, evaluation and completes administrative tasks for their assigned programs/classes. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent the City of Belleville in a professional manner with appropriate actions and conduct by following all of the Staff Policies and Procedures set out by the Department. Responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants by following all rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations. Must be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills. Responsible for providing instruction and leadership for your designated program. Responsible for on-going evaluations and feedback of the programs to the Recreation Programmer. Responsible for the completion of attendance and any required paperwork to effectively administrate this program as per the Department Procedures. Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding in an emergency situation and completing the necessary reports. Provide the participants excellent customer service including management of conflict through effective problem solving and communication skills. Ensure all program areas are properly supplied with equipment, paperwork, and any other supplies that may be required for programs. This position is responsible for keeping any required certifications current. EDUCATION/SPECIALIZED TRAINING: Minimum Required Qualifications: High school, college, or university graduate. Current Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification from a WSIB recognized organization. Certified Aqua Fitness Instructor (AQX, CALA, WaterArt, etc.) Asset Qualifications: High Five - Principles of Healthy Older Adult certification. Additional fitness certifications Post-secondary education in a related discipline WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required Experience: Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving skills. Asset (preferred) Experience: Previous Instructing experience in the assigned discipline.
